Today, I went across the river to take full advantage of the sales tax holiday (not to mention gas prices 30 cents/gallon cheaper than Illinois side).  On the way back across, I came across this issue:

Because a stalled vehicle always block a traffic lane on either bridge, a backup starts very quickly. Traffic in the eastbound lanes was at a near standstill until this vehicle was cleared.

This marked the second incident in the past week, as twitter feeds from @StLouisTraffic posted an accident on the eastbound lanes of the river bridge that blocked the right lane on August 4.

Just as I originally post it,  I go to IDOT traffic website and found yet another stall, this one westbound on the river bridge around 21:30.  This one is quickly cleared.
