IDOT live cams now up again

The IDOT live feed cameras are now working again as of this morning.  Those cameras would have been very useful yesterday afternoon when a vehicle accident and fire took place in the westbound lanes between the canal and river bridge during the evening peak around 17:00 (@creativille also tweeted about this).

Lance Hildebrand @Y98Lance GRANITE CITY: Westbound 270, between the Canal and Chain of Rocks Bridges, accident w/ injuries, vehilce on fire. @Y98

In today Sound Off section of the Alton Telegraph, someone made a comment about the steel that would be required to build the new canal bridge.  Seriously just as long its not the T1 steel, who is going to be checking the origins of that stuff?

Monday morning did not quite go off without an hitch either:

MoDOT STL Traffic @StLouisTraffic NEW: STALL RIVERVIEW ENTRANCE RAMP TO EB I-270 PARTLY CLOSED

That occured around 07:10.  Well their live feed cam really showed this:

Look at the end of the ramp from Riverview onto eastbound 270.  The stalled vehicle is actually there.  Given that this on-ramp is as short as it is with limited merging space, it was a surprise this did not turn into a chain reaction.  It takes 25 minutes for this stall to clear.
