Canal Bridge construction update

Posted: 2012/10/08 in congestion, construction, IDOT

The media has been reporting about the construction that starts tomorrow (due to Columbus Day holiday) and goes through October 26 will be roughly 24/7 once the lane closures start.  The lane closures will start in the eastbound direction first for two weeks and then move over westbound for the third week.  The delays that everyone encountered last Thursday should be a sneak preview of the delays that you will encounter.  The eastbound delays could start at Route 367 during peak periods, westbound delays could start at 255.  Please plan alternate routes during this time.  The news of the delays has been all over the St. Louis news media, especially after what happened Thursday.
