EDITORS NOTE: Not all details of both accidents have been made public at this time.

Sunday evening proved to be a rough one.  Traffic had been heavier than normal due to road work on the Poplar St. Bridge this weekend.  After three close calls happened last week with disabled vehicles and a minor 2 car collision, the increase of traffic did not bode well at all.

This was the first incident. It involved 6 vehicles according to Facebook viewers and blocked the left lane for 90 minutes until crews cleared it.

Scene at 17:54. It is difficult to point out the accident but traffic is crawling in the right lane.

Just when the traffic was trying to revert to normal, a second accident took place just to the east of the original incident.

It was bad the moment it happened, as both westbound lanes are blocked instantly.

With the westbound lanes blocked, commuters stuck in traffic turned to Twitter and started tweeting their frustration:

This accident required a medical helicopter to remove the victim as all 4 lanes would be blocked for several minutes.
