Winter Storm #Titan moving in this weekend

Posted: 2014/02/28 in Weather

UPDATE 3/1/14 at 09:32 – the NWS upgraded the watches to Winter Storm Warnings as of 04:00 this morning.

The Friday evening commute could get a little dicey today as a weak system moves in, but the real story is that the National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Watches valid from Saturday evening through Monday morning for what the Weather Channel is calling Winter Storm Titan.  This storm will mean business to anyone that must travel on Sunday.  It is still uncertain on whether that it will be an ice storm, major snow making event, or a sleet event at this time – so expect anything to happen with this storm.

Regardless of what type of winter weather happens Sunday, the peak periods on Monday and maybe Tuesday will be very dicey as temperatures are projected to bottom out again.  The temperatures will not bottom out as low as it did back in January, but it will go into the single digits.

EDITORS Note: Brady from Illinois Storm Alerts is going into Storm Mode – as I must work this weekend on the night shift at my employer.  Once storm mode is in effect – tweets and retweets will only be done on an essential basis, and Facebook posts will be shared as necessary.
